I have been running the Seti@Home software for about 8 years because I believe very strongly in its mission. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I think it is absurd to think that we are the only intelligent life in the universe - just look at the sky and think of all the possibilities. I also doubt that we are the most advanced, and in all likelihood, other races are waiting to communicate with us until we are worth communicating with.
I run Seti@Home because I believe it is not only possible, but likely that we will see signals from other intelligent life, and any contribution I can make to that end is worthwhile.
Also, it's very interesting to see the effect that these projects have had on distributed computing, as well as raising the awareness around the world of the possibility that we are not alone in the universe! |
