Personal background
I am 46, have been married 3 times and run a medium sized Consultancy company building and maintaining networks and suppoting various sofware products like ACT!. We have recently moved into software development and our latest paradigm shift was to OOP (now I know I've got your sympathy). Our largest project to date was a water level monitoring system for a local water company which involved suppling, siting and result gathering from 230 machines. The software was custom written by myself and two colleagues. I tried to get away with installing seti on the 230 machines but the company vetoed this BOOOO.

I live in Luton, England (yes right by Luton Airport, Lorraine {very sad Brit gag}) have three cats, two homes and two cars. I am the guy everyone turns to when their own PC goes phhht cos I am a mug and will always help. I have been in IT/IS for over 20 years and can remember when there were 7 websites on the net (we said it wouldn't catch on ha ha). My greatest personal triumph was writing a recursive algorith to solve Countdown Numbers (and the RSA code). Sorry dear american friends but you wont understand that (the Countdown bit that is).

To everyone - have a good life and dont kowtow to the corporate a**holes who think they run this lil old planet.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
To think we are alone in the cosmos is the most arrogant thing I have ever heard and can easily ubderstand why any ET race doesn't contact us until people like Soddem Hussein and Osama Bin Bombing get stuffed. I sincerely hope there is intelligent life in space cos there's bugger all down here!

Yes we should transmit a beacon cos any space faring race would have lost all aggressive tendancies and if not well we enjoy a good scrap any way.

Why do I run seti? With the grief it gives me I really dont know.
