Profile: Altair

Personal background
I am IT man. I am curious. And I try to find how deep the rabbit hole is...
I like computers since old my first Sinclair PC with BASIC, without any hard drive, with 48KB of RAM, which was connected to TAPE to load programs and to TV to see 256 color output :)

Now I am supporting SETI and now BOINC in my country Lithuania very much, I have been providing hosting for official SETI classic Lithuania web site, also supporting few active SETI groups of Lithuania, and now I have my own group Altairo Vejai which is No.1 in Lithuania in Einstein@home and No.2 in BOINC total.

Beside computer science I am interested in Green Peace activity. I am not a member of International Green Peace, but I try to make world surrounding me cleaner.
My favorite dogs name is Jina, I had a cat also his name was Matas, but now he lives in country side, he hadn't enough space to live in the town.
I think freedom is all we have, both humans and animals, that is why I named my group "Winds of Altair" if translated into English, it is symbol of freedom.
I think a man can be free only if he feels free, so everyone please feel free :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think if we (humans) exist, there MUST be someone else also. The space is so big, that no one can imagine it, so who can tell that space is not enough for everyone?
SETI is very nice project. Our computers work is used to analyze data, but if it does not find any extraterrestrial life, we can not say that it worked uselessly, because all analyzed date is used for science and I am happy to help our scientists in any way.
