Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Found SETI@home on CNET, I believe, back when it was somewhat new. Installed it and ran it for a while, but never thought much about it. Then last year I wanted a screen saver for our new PowerMacs and remembered the free screensaver on SETI@home and installed it. Works great and serves a purpose, can't beat that. As far as extraterrestrial's, I don't know what to believe. In a universe as vast as ours, is it possible life exists in our little .00000000001%? Doesn't seem likely. But are little gray/green men with big eyes flying around abducting people from our planet and then returning them? Or making crop circles just to confuse us? I don't think so. Life must exist somewhere, it seems logical, but we shouldn't assume it's a life we'd recognize.
