Personal background |
I joined Seti@home in January 2000 working at the Medical School Hannover (Germany, city of the EXPO2000). First with only one Win98-client (AMD K6-300), later with more WinNT-Workstations (PentiumII-400). After I left the MHH one year later, these clients dropped one after another. After all only my own clients (home-PC and notebook) are left. They are a AthlonXP-1800 (working at only 1100MHz) and a PentiumIII-600 notebook (still with old client until I reach 1000 results there).
As I still work in a hospital laboratory (now in Bremen - btw, the german soccer champion 2004), I did not change the name for the team, too.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
"The truth is out there"
I believe in intelligent extraterrestrial life. Maybe we can discover it with this project - I'm sure its worth the effort. Another reason for joining SETI/BOINC is that I found it a great idea to join a project which uses the power of PCs who otherwise would have nothing to do besides consuming electric power. |
