Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, I beleive we are not alone, We are on the rim of our galaxy and a young star .... there is no way u can say we are the only planet to evolve life, older suns closer in would have to be inhabited, even at some stage in thier life cycle. As to wether they visit us (or even can visit us) that i don't know about, I hope that they can, because i believe that FTL travel has to be possible, and if a race knows about it, then they would have to be older and more advanced than we are atm.
We should be more advanced than we are. It's just Polictical set backs that have slowed our space race to a crawl. We have the technology to have had a colony on mars and a permanent Space Station (Torus/Axel Style) at a Lagrange point, even a Moon launch base for futher exploration (removing Earths Gravity well from the equation) for over a decade now, With those 2 bases (at least) the leaps in space advancement alone would have us on the right track for leaving this solar system with a manned exploration team with in 20 years, but no, we are stuck with out dated chemical rockets, with no forseeable change in the next decade.
Ook, I'll get off my high horse, i've had my say (i think) LOL
