Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists?
Yes, without a doubt. How could we possibly think they we just happened to be the only life that popped up in a universe that is so incredibly large.

If so, when and how will humans discover it?
I hope we discover it tomorrow.

What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
Benefits:
Limitless I believe.

Dangers/Problems:
Unfortunately I think that some cultures and religious groups would try to deny any proof even if it was right in front of them. Others will feel threatened and probably want to do stupid things.

Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find?
Yes, I'm not sure just listening is enough.

If so, what information should we send?
About us, I mean the real us as humans.
An invitation for them to come and visit us.
I think it is worth any risk
(the worse thing is that we could be eaten) :)

Why do you run SETI@home?
I want to do my part to help process the data.
I think everyone should be running it or something like it.

What are your views about the project? Any suggestions
I think the goverment should be funding this project massively, It's a shame they are not and someday we will look back and see how stupid we were. However if this program works with the hard work of home users then there will also be a pride there.
I would like the software we run to be more interactive, I think you could attract more users. Maybe the addition of a "Pro" version where we could really push our higher-end systems.
