Hi.
My name is Daniel and i joined the seti@home community on 31.12.1999 / 25:59 (local-time) as i was sitting at my work place and waiting for the Year2000 bug... witch never popped up... So i had time to install the seti@home client ;-)
I started computing on a PIII500 and worked through all generation of PC CPU's (and some tests on alpha-servers)
I'm living in Switzerland (the small spot between Germany, France and Italy) and work as Unix-Dispatcher.
My hobbies are informatics (including micro controllers) , traveling, scuba-diving, my Segway an music. My favorite music festival is the legendary Montreux-Jazz Festival, and i work as volunteer for this festival since 1999.

Je m'apelle Daniel et suis membre de seti@home depuis le 31.12.1999 / 23:59, alors que je m'ennuyais devant mon pc, au travail, a attendre le bug de l'an 2000... qui n'est d'ailleurs jamais arrive. J'ai donc eu le temps d'installer le client seti@home ;-)
J'ai debute sur un PIII500... C'etais le "bon vieux temps"... et depuis j'ai utilise toutes les generations de processeurs PC...
J'habite en Suisse (la petite tache sur la mappemonde entre la France, l'Allemagne et l'Italie) et suis informaticien dans le domaine Unix/Linux Dispatching.
A part l'informatique (et le micro controlleurs), j'aime les voyages, la plongee sous-marine, mon Segway et la musique. Mon festival prefere: Montreux-Jazz Fetival, pour lequel je travaille comme volontaire depuis 1999. |
