Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I run (and have run since 1999) SETI@home to contribute to the distributed computational capacity to process data in the search for an "intelligent" rf signal from outside our planetary system.

2. I laud the project as a great first start. I am not expecting unambiguous results as the SETI data window is so narrow, and the distances so great as to confound any optimism toward receiving any message from "ET." I think other endeavors, such as a sky search for modulated laser light should proceed. Was it Carl Sagan who said the if we are the only "intelligent" beings in the universe, then there sure is alot of wasted space?

3. Thanks to the outstanding programmers, scientists, and engineers at Berkeley for supporting the SETI program. We have to start somewhere. Keep up the good work.
