Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that it most definately arrogant and ignorant for us to believe that intelligent life can't exist in the "known" universe. I must say, however, the chance of human and non-human interaction happening on a globally aware, simultaneous platform within MY lifetime is at best, minuscule. I do hope to someday be proven wrong and that is why I run Seti@home.

Should we transmit beacons? I think that any form of transmitting the ability to perform mathmatics and show that Earth is also an advanced planet will most definately increase the chances of contact occurring. If and when the ability to travel efficiently in outer and far outer space happens, will we not aim for galaxies or solar systems which display advanced forms of thinking (however that may be?)
