I am 34 year old and a father of 4.
I work as technical support for a large high speed data company in Texas.
I spend lots of time in front of a computer trying to keep up with all this new technology.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think extraterrestrial life exists out there. At the rate we seem to be going, they will probably find us first. Or maybe they already have.
If we do find them or visa versa, I dont think its going to go over very well.
Humans can just barely get along with each other. We still have to grow up.
I think a beacon is not nessesary. We beam so many signals around now we wont be hard to find for anyone looking.
I run SETI@home because I feel "they" are out there and would like to do something to help. Its a great project.
I would like to see a version that runs on older dos machines with maybe 8 or 16 meg of ram. I have lots of old machines I'd leave running all the time!
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
