Profile: Duncan Hughes

Personal background
former MIT astrophysics major, ended up in aerospace engineering.
live in Delaware, where astronomy, visible or otherwise, is not
a big thing. Hoping to teach my 3 yr old about the stars.
He already watches the ISS go overhead, when it's going to be visible!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. i don't see why not. no way to tell, but it's fundamentally important
to learn as much as we can.
2. not yet.
3. two reasons - first, if we are going to find ETI, this should help accelerate the process; second, even if we don't, it's a great experiment in distributed computing, even if it turns out to be a guvvament way to have us break codes for them ;-)
