Personal background
Yo!
Just another SETI@home user worried about how the things here (at earth) are going out. How sick politicians do we have, huh? Maybe someone out there can help us. Running SETI@home 24/7, I´m giving my piece of help to contact them.
Besides that, it´s useful for benchmark and performance investigation purposes. How I´m a performance freak, it´s just perfect to me. ;)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Q. Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
A. Yes, I do! In fact, I believe that they already are close, but they are just watching how we behaviour for a little while.
Q. Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?
A. Sure! But who knows if they will send an answer back? I don´t know what kind of message. Maybe the really intelectual ones are the right people to write something.
Q. Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?
A. 1 - Because I believe. 2 - Because I like to see my CPU very HOT! I think that the project is a must in: 1 - terms of life experience, because it looks for anything that will change the way we "see" the sky and ourselves; 2 - Because it´s a unprecedent very well succeded cluster computing experience. Hope some day I have enough knoledge to make any useful suggestions!
