Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1/ Yes I do believe ET life , but not neccesarly at the same age of developpment , so could be much more premitive and not so dangerous or verry advanced and then it could be helpfull or dangerous but leaving now on earth seams also dangerous at times : crazy war on Irak ; crazy colonisation in palestine ; ecological desasters to come ; air pollution ; fresh water supplies fading away ; forest disapering ; how knows what's North Korea doing with there Nuclear material ; and so much more. So I wouldn't mind risking for some outside help ,we'll probebly be doomed with out it (that's probably just a bit too much pessimist), keep smiling :)

2/ Yes , a book , photos , our solar system map , ...., goodies , ... ,
and a recipient with water. And a clever advance piece of hitech equipment
... too many possibilities here for me to go into. But don't think it will
be by this means that we contact Anybody Out There ...

3/ For fun , pc is sitting there doing nothing , so do this I tell him
but still find it verry intresting , probably don't get enough feed back
