Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? Maybe, Frankly I have no idea.
I think we can find better ways to spend money than transmitting a beacon for others (that we don't even know exist) to find.
I mainly use Seti@home as a tool for load testing workstations and servers. More often than not I leave it running as most computers don't have anything else better to do.
Versions of SETI compiled for specific x86 processors would be interesting...
