Personal background
yeah hello berkeley, hello world, hello microorganisms on Io

i'm a 17 years old space-geek from wittenbach in switzerland. i work as a pc-supporter in a little company. i am scoutmaster, i belong to the swiss sports club and i am member of the nerdy zooomclan - a swiss lanparty oriented society (www.zooomclan.org).

i know that our great project will be written down to the history books of the next century, and nothing could make me aborting to participate seti@home. i believe in making first contact in 50 or 100 years; but only if you don't crash your servers *please don't use microsoft products* :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
i downloaded seti@home the same day i read about it.

i run seti@home because sometime we WILL make contact with other races. don't know when, don't know if i will live to see it -- but we have to do something, they won't come unannounced for a cup of tea... we have to search them, because perhaps they don't know that we exist; the universe is very big.

at last i'd like to say something important for those, who are fascinated from the films where we triumph over evil aliens: if ever extraterrestrial live will find the way to our little solar system, it'll be with ultralarge probability FRIENDLY. yeaoh. or do you think that a civilization with so much knowledge is mad? they'd have killed themselves, if they would'nt be friendly.

so, george w. bush, nsa, kgb and all hardliners, don't shoot at them when they come! otherwise i must come to you and punch you. promised.
