I am a student at the Colorado School of Mines. My home town is Shelburne, VT. I started doing this because my friend Billy Gooch introduced it to me and I thought it was a good idea. I am writing this at 2:00AM so it's not that great.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think extraterrestrial life exists. I think that humans have already discovered it in the samples of organic compounds from meteorites, etc. The possibilities of both the benefits and dangers of such a discovery are endless.
I think that humans should transmit a beacon for others to find. However, the contents of that beacon I do not know nor will I know until I further expand and define my ethics and principals surounding the project.
I run SETI@home because I believe in the expansion and passing on of all knoledge within our grasp. I love the project
