Personal background
Here we are, all dressed up and no one to impress and embrace. Where is the rest of the party? I'm hopeful that we will find those fascinating ET's in my lifetime. About me? I'm a South Floridian by birth and for life, with forays to New England occasionally, and Brooklyn, even! I'm younger than my father and older than my daughter. In most cases. I'm a mommy and I love that. I'm a Mensan and that's fun, too. I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up, but my kid is already establishing a career as an artist, so I'm feeling very behind in the race for a calling! Want to hire me? I'm a lousy housekeepr, a good cook, and a fabulous spender of time. Like most girls of my ilk, I'm adorable and lovable, and a consummate drain on the faucet of your heart. Love those metaphors! I AM LIVING WITH MULTIPLE CANCERS, INCLUDING CUTANEOUS T-CELL LYMPHOMA... INCURABLE AND INCORRIGIBLE, JUST LIKE ME!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, I think life exists in other places than our planet. I'm hoping that we will discover civilized ET soon, but the odds are that civilized ET will discover us first, in my opinion. I'm a silly girl, benefits and dangers don't figure grandly to me- the search, eventual connection and then expansion of our reality is the ALL. I hope that our radio/television signals ARE serving as a beacon to other life already, don't you? I believe that if we do not move out to other planets and solar systems that we will not survive as a race. I believe that space expansion is the next step in our evolution, aside from transhuman exploration. I run SETI to add to the quantity of data worked on. I'd enjoy a SETI convention, how about in NYC? My chemotherapy happens there every other Thursday at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, join me anytime! I'm cute.
