Profile: Tammy Brimm

Personal background
I live in Coquitlam, which is a suburb of Vancouver, BC Canada. Coquitlam is an first nation term meaning shiny fish. Actually smelly fish would be a better term as this city has several streams that are salmon spawning grounds in the fall, and the smell get pretty obnoxious then. I arrived on this planet sometime between Sputnik and the first moon landing!

I work as an accountant for a company that tests construction materials. I slowly inherited the position of Network Administrator, so being a Gemini, having more than one job seems to suit me, well at least most of the time! It keeps life from getting boring at the office.

Time is a scarce commodity in my household, but when time allows, I try to do someting active for a hobby. Swimming seems to be a "staple" in the household, with all family members participating. Mountain biking and running are also up there in the "Top 10" of things to do!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Why not? If there is surplus processing time, let's put it towards something worthwhile.

2. It is difficult for me to believe that we are alone in this vast universe. SETI takes the proactive approach of looking for the "other" rather than waiting for the "other" to arrive.
