Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Suggestion: This is a wacky idea, but there may be something to it. I think it was during the 40's or 50's, there were stories of people hearing radio stations from the past (or maybe the future, can't rememeber). You don't hear stories like that anymore mainly because our airspace is flooded with radio waves unlike back then and the equipment has gotten a lot better. What if there was a way to set up a sattelite on the dark side of the moon where the radio waves from the earth are blocked out. And perhaps use some old technology set at some strange configurations. Never know, you might receive a message in an unusual manner. But trying to listen to a whisper at a rock concert is kinda pointless.

Think about it. An alien race trying to send us a message would need the output of a star to reach us intact. But if they send it when the moon is lined up (or some planet like jupiter), then that would make more sense. But you need to get behind these celestial objects.

Actually, you may want to look more closely at stars too.
