Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I can no more grasp the concept of "we are alone in the universe" than I can grasp the concept of "infinity". I can't picture extraterrestrial life resembling Star Trek characters. Just like we impose our human "traits" on our deities, we also impose them on every other possibility in our lives. ET may not have evolved with a sense of "right and wrong", or a sense of community. I can see both sides of the arguments the government makes in this regard. FIRST CONTACT: will they greet us or eat us?
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
