Personal background
Founder of Velatropa Films and Earth 2 Productions | Filmmaker, Producer and a Geek | into adventure travel, digital photography, new media and the cybersphere-noosphere transition.

I am a Brazilian naturalized British born in the town of Aparecida, in the state of São Paulo. I am a self taught filmmaker whose projects combine naturalism and photo-realism. With a keen eye for composition and detail, I am adept at developing original concepts and seeing them through to fruition. When an original film project is in the making, no adversity can stand in my way as I do everything with boundless energy and enthusiasm. I was raised on quality sunshine in Brazil, dropping out of school in order to set up his own small advertising company at the age of 22. Five years later I decided to leave Brazil and travel the world seeking my European roots. Finally settling down in the UK, I studied photography, art, information technology and environmental science. After several years of experience in graphic design, event organization, radio production, online marketing and advertising, I directed a number of short films and created concepts for a series of short sci-fi/fantasy films. My inspiration stems from movies like Baraka, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner, The Matrix and Alien along with the directorial and narrative style of Quentin Tarantino. Having polished the craft of filmmaking at the Raindance Film School in London, I am now making my directorial debut with the groundbreaking feature-length documentary Earth 2.0 – thereby fulfilling a passion I always had for cinema since childhood. My goal is that Earth 2.0 will be the most memorable documentary ever made and will break all the rules of documentary filmmaking. Earth 2.0 is set to be released sometime late in 2012-13. I am currently represented by Velatropa Films and Earth 2 Productions in the UK.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I started running SETI late in the 90's by curiosity and due to my great interest in the subject. Carl Sagan and the film Contact was also a great influence for me to run SETI.

Today, I have mix thoughts about SETI -- we're counting on the aliens using communication technology such as radio waves, light, etc... and that's so-last century... I believe we need to upgrade a bit our Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence. Why we don't investigate a bit further into hyperdimensional physics? New 'undiscovered laws' of the universe will show us how to send bits from one place to another either more efficient than light and radio, and faster. The future is bright and very exciting -- let's focus on it!

Last thoughts:
Are we alone in the Universe?
This is probably one of the most important questions to be answered, yet modern science seems reluctant to address it. It is almost certain that life does exist in some other part of the Universe. There are billions and billions of stars in our galaxy alone, with, it is reasonable to expect, an even greater number of planets orbiting them. So, life has to be abundant... "but I guess I'd say if it is just us... seems like an awful waste of space" (quote - from Ted Arroway to young Ellie in the film Contact). !
