Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Hmm, does ET exist?... well, i think the best way to describe my thought on the matter commes from a quote in the movie Contact.. "if we are alone, it would be an awful waste of space" , maybe from the final scene of MIB?
When will humanity discover it?... Im pretty sure itll be when we least expect it but as for an exact date, im no psychic :)
Dangers and benefits.. the main benefit i can think up atm is that we will finaly know the answer to the most haunting question we have... no we are not alone.. as for the dangers.. well my worst fear is that they would be as self destructive as humanity is...
A beacon?, why not. Might help and surely wont hurt.
The simple reason im running Seti is that i like to think that now, im helping to answer the question that as been in humanity's mind for.. well, quite some time.
