I have been born and brought up in India, and am currently working with HP as a software engineer. As far as hobbies go, I read novels, listen to music, and watch fish. I'm interested in physical fitness, racy bikes and cars, the outdoors, computers, health issues, medical science.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I do believe that extraterrestrial life exists, because in this universe, there is definitely space for everyone.
If there does exist extraterrestrial life either as intelligent or more than the level of us humans, chances are, they too are thinking of searching out the universe for intelligent life like what we are doing.
Somehow, I feel that the human race is not yet ready to encounter intelligent extra-terrestrial life. But, I also feel that our coming in contact with ET's is not in our hands, and that it is in our fates. Only Time will tell. Till then, we can keep running the SETI program, and keep twiddling our thumbs, in hope.
I cant find a suitable comment as to whether the human race should have beamed a beacon for others to find. Suffice it to say that the move has both its pros and cons.
I think that the SETI program is a good initiative, because it is getting people around this planet to work toward a good cause. Plus the fact that distributed computing is a subject close to my heart. The only one suggestion that I can think of to anybody who is reading this writeup of mine, but is not running the SETI program .... "Please give this program a try, you will not be disappointed !!".
