My name is Karl V. Just a guy from Sweden. I have been living in Gothenburg for all my life but just recently (2007-10-01) moved to a smaller town outside Gothenburg called Onsala. Try to find it if you want. I bet it's on Google maps.
I joined SETI 2000, I think it was. Started to processing unites with my PII 400MHz. Yey, 19.2 days for 14 unites and that took me years... I have been checking out BOINC every now and then but didn't like it at first. But just a few days ago, early 2008, I decided to join up again. I was smart enough to have moved my old account over when SETI made the switch to BOINC. Today processing unites is much more pleasant and easier then at 1999-2000. I did 3 SETI WU's in just a matter of hours on my AMD64 X2 6000+ and this week, feb 20009 I upgraded my machine again to a AMD Phenom I X4 9650. Light years faster then my old old old computer with a Pentium II @ 400 MHz. When I joined BOINC I did study most of the projects that BOINC had to offer. At first I was only involved in SETI and World Community Grid but as since then expanded my participation. By joining World Community Grid you are eventually joining 5 projects at once. Very efficient. I created my own little team on World Community Grid to which I contribute all my credits. The bad thing to join up with a team is that if you ever leave, the credit stays with the team which is kinda lame. But if you have any suggestions on teams that are nice and active. Forward me a line!
