Informaticien par passion ( autodidacte ), plus à l´aise avec les systèmes multi-utilisateurs de moyenne gamme, je ne suis venu à internet que récemment. J´ai utilisé la toile pour me former à HTML, JAVASCRIPT, PHP, etc. J´y glane également quantité de renseignements dans les domaines électronique, robotique et astronomie. Dormant peu, je suis aussi un lecteur assidu de ´e-zines´ en tous genres. J´apprécie les sites insolites, pas forcément les plus animés.
Computer specialist by passion ( self-made ), more comfortable with average range multi-user systems, I came to internet only recently. I used the web to train myself to HTML, JAVASCRIPT, PHP, etc. I also glean there lots of information in the electronics, robotics and astronomy domains. Sleeping few, I am also a diligent reader of any kind of ´e-zines´ . I appreciate unusual - amazing - web sites, not necessarily the most animated ones.
Informatiker aus Leidenschaft ( Autodidakt ), vertrauter mit Mehrbenutzersystemen mittlerer Größe, bin ich erst vor kurzem zu Internet gekommen. Ich habe das Netz benutzt, um mich in HTML, JAVASCRIPT, PHP, u.s.w. auszubilden. Ich sammle dort eine Menge Informationen in den Gebieten Elektronik, Robotik und Astronomie. Ich schlafe wenig und bin deshalb auch ein fleißiger Leser von ´e-zines´ aller Art. Ich schätze ungewöhnliche Webseiten, nicht zu bunt, nicht zu hektisch.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Comme j´ai beaucoup pris, j´ai pensé à SETI AT HOME pour donner quelque chose à la communauté.
Je n´en attends rien mais suis certain que la recherche fondamentale payera comme toujours. Trouverons-nous ET? Ou tout autre chose? Si c´est ET, prions qu´il nous ressemble assez pour que la communication soit possible, mais qu´il soit aussi assez différent pour que nous ne marchions pas sur les plates-bandes les uns des autres : on sait trop le genre de désastre qui s´ensuit.
Si nous le trouvons, à quand une rencontre? Est-il déjà en route? Sera-t-il bienveillant? Saurons nous nous tenir tranquilles?
As I got a lot, I thought of SETI AT HOME to give something to the community.
I expect nothing from it, but I am certain that basic research will pay back as usually. Shall we find ET? Or quite other matter? If it is ET let us pray so that it is similar enough to us so that communication is possible, but also different enough so that we do not step on feet each other : we know what kind of disaster then happens.
If we find it, can we meet it soon? Maybe it is already on the way? Will it be friendly? Shall we be friendly?
Da ich viel nahm, dachte ich an SETI AT HOME um der Gemeinschaft etwas zurückzugeben.
Ich erwarte nichts davon, aber ich bin doch überzeugt, dass die Grundlagenforschung sich wie immer lohnen wird. Werden wir ET finden? Oder etwas ganz Anderes? Falls es ET ist, beten wir, das er uns ähnlich genug ist, damit Verständigung möglich ist, aber auch verschieden genug, damit wir uns nicht zu sehr in den Weg laufen : man weiss nur zu gut welche Art Katastrophe sich daraus ergibt.
Falls wir ihn finden, wann werden wir ihn treffen? Ist er schon unterwegs? Wird er freundlich sein? Werden wir uns benehmen können? |
