I live in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We get about 80 inches of rain a year here because we are located on the side of a mountain by the Pacific Ocean.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe extraterrestrial life has existed in the past and will in the future, I'm just beginning to wonder if there is any one else out there right now. Perhaps the universe is such a dangerous place that civilizations don't last long before they are snuffed out like the dinosaurs were. Do I think we should transmit a beacon? Definitely not! Let's find out what's out there first before we draw attention to ourselves. I think SETI@home is a fantastic project. The computing power of almost 4 million computers must be enormous. Now if we could just pick up a signal.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
