Personal background
I am a 25yo who works as both a Programmer during the day, and a Machine Operator in the only automatic transmission factory in Australia during the afternoon and night.

I am a firm believer that the CPU cycles you waste idleing or off, are cycles you never get again, so I am putting the ones I don't use to good use! (seti, einstein, climate prediction & protein predictor)

I love science and science fiction, I honestly think I was born 500-1000 years too early, not that there is anything wrong with the present, I just would love to be living amongst the stars, doing small things like crewing a cargo freighter between earth and proxima centauri. Hell! between earth and jupiter would be good enough for me!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home to not only make my CPUs earn the power it uses, but to play my part in helping to proove that there really is life out there. With the vast size and age of the universe, how the hell could this little wet piece of rock we live on be the only one to allow the wide variety of life it holds to evolve.

Being an australian, I would love to be able to crunch some data from the southern hemisphere. There is something to be said to looking up at the sky you see, and thinking to yourself "I am watching you!". And with only data from the northern hemisphere I can't do that, plus we are missing 50% of the sky by only looking from the north.
