Born in 1965; living in Cologne, Germany. Trying to make a living as an IT concultant, married to a loving wife and having a beautiful little daughter (and a cat), I spend most of my (little) spare time with and for OS/2 and its great community.
Processing of SETI data 'round here is done by an AMD K6-550 MHz machine with 256 Megs RAM (of which 128 are reserved for server purposes) - it's the network server of my home office which runs 24h,7/7 as a file, print and backup server and fax machine (besides SETI all the time).
Of course, it runs OS/2 (Warp Server Advanced 4.0)...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
According to a well-known joke, we should first try to discover if there's any intelligent life on earth before searching for it outside... In my mind, there is intelligent life 'out there', but those guys might have been here before. Thus, the reason for them 'hiding' is that they might know us. ;)
If I could send them a message, it would be "Don't trust humans; bring your lawyers with you and if you consider touching down in the U.S. claim your patents first." ;)
