Personal background |
I'm born 1971 in Frankfurt/Germany, so I am close as old as the universe. At this time I live in Stein am Rhein in Swizerland close to the lake of constance.
I am an engineer for materials science and surface technologies and my preferences are materials testing, materials development and failure analysis.
I like to go running and mountainbiking, like to read books (e.g. Tad Williams, J.R.R. Tolkien) and I am a semiprofessional "chef du cuisine".
I like everything that makes fun and DON'T like oil-caused international conflicts (what means YOU, G.W.!!!).
Live long and prosper.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Of course e.t.i. exists - the question is if he (or she or it) wants to get in touch with us? Hopefully they are looking in our direction in better times with an other (useful) U.S. president.
My opinion is, that we should send beacons, but it is not nescessary to send too much information to "them". One reason is, that our time is changing so fast, that these informations are irrelevant in 2 years or so. So I think, that it should be only a short message like "Hey you guys out there, we are here and we want to get in touch with you". If they are interessted in contacting someone, and they have the technology, they will do so.
Why do I run SEIT@home? Nice question. Looks cool as a screensaver, is hopefully sucessful somewhen in time and why not? My electricity is produced by waterpower and doesn't produce CO2. Not this senseless as flying toasters. |
