Personal background |
Basically there's not much about myself of interest to everyone, except that I'm a "space enthusiast", and love flying with model or real planes.
I'm a mechanical engineering student (4th year) at University of Campinas (UNICAMP), in Brazil.
I'll put my computer info here for general reference on performance, etc.
Unfortunately my motherboard sucks big time (it's a PCChips), so according to some benchmarks my performance is somewhat 40% below what it should be.
Here are the specs:
AMD Athlon 1.1Ghz;
PCChips 133MHz motherboard;
256 Mb SDRAM 133MHz;
30Gb ATA 100 Hard-drive;
Windows ME;
I usually leave the SETI client running all the time, although while I use "heavy" software such as MatLab or large games, the client almost doesn't advance.
Well, hope this was at least mildly interesting... :) |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Well, I don't know if there is life out there, but I sure hope there is. Think of how interesting the universe would be if someting like Star Wars had actually happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away! Anyway, to quote another famous story, "If we are alone, it would be an awful waste of space"! |
