Personal background
Hi there! I'm a 30 year old from the UK. Where to start? Ooh, tough one. Got born, went to school. Then I did something very sensible and joined the Royal Air Force as an assistant air traffic controller. Nine and a half years later I found myself standing outside a university with a computer science degree certificate in my hands. Still clueless as to what I wanted to do with my life, so I became a web designer. Made redundant after two years and decided, "to hell with it", and joined an aerospace company where I now work as a PA.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It was good to see SETI in the news.

It's a bit arrogant to assume that there is no other life in the universe. It's out there probably searching just like we are. I think the transmitting a beacon is a good idea. Even if we just say ,"hello, here we are", it will be better than saying nothing.

I run SETI@home to help the project because, let's face it, I'm not a rocket scientist or an astrophysicist, so this is the only way to help.

Keep up the good work guys!
