| Hi! My name is Beth. I live in N.W. Mississippi. I have several interests and hobbies. I am a paranormal investigator/researcher. I am also into motorcycles, ocean liners and astronomy. I think the SETI@home project is a wonderful thing and makes an everyday person, such as myself, feel like they are making an important and potentially historically significant contribution to society. I'm sure there is some sort of life out there, somewhere. Whether it is intelligent or not is a question that is yet to be answered. That's why we're all here taking part in this project, right? The benefits of finding other intelligent life is the gaining of knowledge. The danger is the human reaction, as most humans tend to panic about what we do not understand.
I do think we should transmit a beacon for others to find. The foremost message should be that we would like a peaceful interaction with them. Next, perhaps an historical summary of our world. |
