I live on the outskirts of London, England with my parents and sister. I've been using SETI@home since Boxing Day 2001 after a recommendation from a friend.
I'm a website designer with a particular interest in space and my current personal project is a large site about the American Space Program.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that there must be something out there otherwise it would be an awful waste of space (I'm sure you've heard that line before) :-)
If we don't look for a signal coming from another world we'll never know so we've got to check and keep checking the skies as the signal could be received at any moment.
Without SETI@home we would not be able to monitor these signals and so could potentially miss out on getting the answer to the most important question - are we alone????
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
