Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am excited about the possibilities of discovering or being discovered by lifeforms not of this planet. I have some amount of fear about what that encounter will do to our corner of the galaxy. When the time comes for us to share ourselves with other worlds I am afraid as a society we will appear self centered and small minded. I hope that we are able to solve issues such as hunger and poverty by the time we have to present ourselves to others.
