Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
ET exists. It just has to. Seems to strange to have life only on one small planet out of this vast creation called the Universe.

We should search it out as I'm sure it's searching us out too. Seems a basic instinct that life looks for life.

Not sure if we'll like what we find, but nonetheless we should try to find it. If we transmit our existence to the Universe, I suggest we try to explain our entire planet and not just humankind's existance upon it.

Also, we should have this beacon or "broadcast" approved by the UN and a UN Security Council resolution should be drafted to guide humankind's response to First Contact if and when it happens. We should, of course, prepare for both friendly and hostile encounters.
