Personal background
27yo, psychiatrist, maybe ET have essential clues to understand madness- next life wanna be astronaut to meet our friends of out there- maybe ET like to play with cellular automata too> code30 !!- interest in aviation, science(Wolfram science now)- believe in life after death: we are ET's blind enough to forget our basic reality, just like matrix zombies.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1- I believe ET life exists, and maybe in less then 50 years we'll really discover then.Possible benefits of such a discovery > enhanced knowledge of cosmos' fine-grained structure(us and the rest of life in it), happiness to known we're not alone, sprouting of another copernican revolution > scattering of human-centrism;
more financial support to SETI group; more movies about ETs(love'em); exponential growth of SETI users(that could be a serious problem for SETIstaff logistics, just like every exp-growth);scientific and social deep contributions to the planet's evolution > up-grade to another civilization level(when a civilization contacts another civilization a new era of creation becomes possible- that's how the greeks made a difference);proud of every SETIuser.
- dangers > government control of SETIoperations- that could be a bad thing- and creation of cosmic diplomacy(don't know if that's the word)- it probably will be a
mathematician.
2-We should send wolfram's cellular automata- code 30, as he would say.It's simple
a revealing of our culture present status
3-It's amazing the feeling of making a micro-help to find ETs, and joining a large community that is stirred up by the same thing.
4- What dissapoints me is that I believe that we are ETs(spirits at learning status on Earth- linked to a primitive but efficient bio-mechanical apparatus-the body)just paasing buy, and everybody ignores it or doubts it(just like Matrix-movie-kind-of-a-zombiness); what gives me half of a logical support are the following clues: science cannot prove consciousness destruction even after body desintegration(this is just for Popper's reader's), physics is discovering a realm of another dimensions and the majority of physicists believe in dark matter: two essential ingredients for building a scientific theory of the "incarnated soul"(I don't like the crudeness and pop like esthetics of those terms too); the other half maybe will come with experiments with dark matter.
