Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI is a really cool project... it's one of the online projects that really reflects the old internet-mentality... help-each-other-out-a-little...
and when I can contribute to this (globally important) case by just installing the SETI@HOME client and adding my little part to the collective of SETI@HOME users then count me in!...
And SETI@HOME is one of the best coöperation projects I have ever seen... thousands of people let their PC calculate an insignificant amount of data that would be useless on itsself, but when all these people do this and all the data is put together it's actually useable... now thát's coöperation!!!
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
