Personal background
Received a Bsc (Hons) in Computer Studies from City Polytechnic of Hong Kong back in 1990. Trained in software engineering, information systems, computer hardware systems and formal specification.

Attempted part-time MSc in Computer Science in City University of Hong Kong (formerly City Polytechnic of HK), passed all subject examination but failed to complete the thesis owning to heavy day-time workload and insufficient sleep since Feb 1994. Still eligible for Postgraduate Diploma (PgD not PhD).

An average programmer, with lots of experiences in xBase (dBase, Clipper, Foxpro), Linux, DOS/Windows, Novell Netware 3.x, C, COBOL, .... Have been working in international corporations as well as small software houses. Hardware-wise, well-versed in IBM PC and compatible, ethernet networking, with some background in IBM mainframes (IBM Cabling System, SNA terminal controllers). Job titles I had acquired: Network Coordinator, Application Programmer, Programmer, Senior Programmer, Application Developer, Analyst Programmer, and System Analyst.

Business knowledge includes simple book-keeping/accounting systems, HK Fencing School course management, night-club management (ChinaCity), human resources management (leaves, payroll, MPF, attendance...), general insurance data entry system, mailing list, project costing, 4A Creativity Award scoring system, ...

Active in many internet newsgroup servers. Prior to the internet's arrival, the co-sysop of the Concerto BBS Group when Fidonet was popular in Hong Kong (Fidonet is a modem-based network).
