| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I have read enough books and watched enough sci-fi movies to think that it is improbable that we are alone in our universe. What I believe is most likely is that an alien race civilized enough to visit or communicate with us, would respect a "star trek" rule of not interfering with a "less civilized" race of peoples.
What we would need to do is first communicate with the other civilization, and express our desire to communicate with them and to meet them. Once we do that, we open the doors to a new era in our society. I want to do my little part by contributing a little bit. In great time, little bits make the improbable much more probable. |
