Personal background
Well, I'm a Graphic Designer and Animator from Mexico. I like computers, and work with them most of my time. I also enjoy reading, specially sci-fi, playing my old guitar, and going to the movies...I love (really really love) animated films.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
First of all, yes, I do think there is life somewhere else in the Universe...the question for me is if that life is indeed intelligent, and if we can contact it...it might be just too far away, or use means of communication that are not detectable by our own technology. Anyways, the only conclusive answer is a positive one, and even as no contact has been made, our duty as species is to continue searching...

About Seti@Home, I think it's the best way to harness the great power of computing that has spread all over the world, in what might be the greatest task ever taken by mankind...to answer the question "Are we alone?"...anyways, it's absolutely better than having flying toasters or 3D pipes all over your computer screen!!!!

Another useful purpouse Seti@home accomplishes (in my own opinion) is to interest a wide audience in science, because once hooked with the screensaver or the text version, people will want to know more of the facts behind the search...radioastronomy, exobiology, and the more mundane math or physics...
