| Hello. I'm English and trying desperately to fend off middle-age (it's not working). I'm a mainframe software developer working in the finance sector (banking, isurance, that sort of thing). I enjoy most music and sports though lack any sort of talent in either of those fields. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I think that the statistical arguments for extra-terrestrial life are very convincing and believe that it is 'out there' somewhere. I think it is unlikely that we will discover it, it is much more likely that it will discover us, if it hasn't already! Hopefully it will wait until we are mature enough, as a species, to be able to handle the fact that we are no longer the metaphorical centre of the universe. That day seems as far away as ever to me right at this moment, though.
Even though I think it is unlikely that we will find it I think it is important for all avenues to be explored, hence I run SETI on my PC. |
