Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Other life forms exists, and they will be found in a few hundred years. That will if nothing else cure some of our built in thirst for knowledge and bring some enlightenment.
Don't believe in sending beacons, other ways of communication are faster and better.
Runs SETI@home to make some use of spare computer time and power. It's a great way of exploring the ways to make use of the wast amount of existing computer power.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
