Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have a feeling that we will find something at first obscure, and nearly meaningless, but it will be proof. As our technology develops and we sense a greater part of the universe, we may find something meaningful/useful. It may be a while before we stumble upon any kind of contemporary communication.
We should send a beacon--much like the original Voyager--but we should make the information presented on our most advanced and densest form (hard disc or whatever surpasses that) as well.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
