Personal background
I'm a 21 Y/O Student studying Information Systems Development at the university of Luton, UK.
My main interests would have to be film and music. My musical tastes are very selective, i enjoy some very chilled out artists such as groove armada and leftfield as well as more upbeat stuff such as Cut-la-roc and Krafty Kuts.
Sports, i love football ( English Style, none of that god damned Americain football thing ), I'm a semi-passionate supported of Tranmere Rovers FC ( WHO, i hear you cry )
Anyway, i do have other interes.......... BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING.......

My favourite hobbies are as follows:
Varnishing geraniums.
Singing to varnished Geraniums
Shouting at next door's beard.
Welcoming Jehovah’s witnesses in for tea and cake and psalms and goose pate.
Oiling the Emus dentures.
Spanking the Wombat.
During my spare time i am also developing a highly concentrated heat beam aka "Laser" to amass an army of rogue and politically un-biased mercenary pigeons.

I am also the Lizard Queen!!!!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm sure if you're reading this then you won't take it seriously having read the above but here does anyway!

Do you think extraterrestrial life exists?
When you consider how many stars there are out there it is impossible to say that life does not exist. Even if the human race is just ( For want of a better quote ) 'A freak of nature', with that many other galaxies out there statistically there has to be other 'freaks of nature'!

If so, when and how will humans discover it?
I believe the SETI project is the first major step. In time other technologies will make this project quicker, more efficient and who knows, in time new developments in communications could help us in the quest for the 'Holy Grail'

What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
It would be impossible to say, we only have our own culture as a guideline. The benefits could be huge, but if they are, would humanity be ready to undertake such a huge technological leap in such a short space of time????

Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find?
Yes. If contact was made then it would be considered the biggest social and technological breakthrough in human history!

If so, what information should we send?
Very basic information, numerical data ( Those prime numbers ). I think any information about ourselves, such as DNA, etc, should be held back until the E.T's intensions are clear!

Why do you run SETI@home?
I'm just trying to do my bit.

What are your views about the project?
It is such a brilliant idea, sending information all round the world to be processed, it reduces the amount of time taken to process the data. I just can't believe it hasn't been used for any other purposes?

Any suggestions?
You could buy me a car!
