Personal background |
I'm a 28 year old male, living in a Norwegian city named Bodø, the city is just above the polar-circle.
Now I'm a student, but I used to work as a refrigeration engineer.
First time I heard of SETI@HOME was in August 1999, I downloaded the screensaver for win98, and I saw the statistic of people running Linux, same hardware 3 times faster processing of work-units. So then I become a Linux user :)

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
My primary reason to run SETI@home is that my computer is always on, and connected to the net by ADSL. I does'nt run any other CPU intensive programs, and on Linux it's so easy to make Seti@home "nice".
So why not use my spare CPU-time to do something useful? I've considered other distributed processing programs such as that protein folding... something. But I think the search for extraterrestrial life is more interresting.
