Personal background
Hello; I'm a 33-year-old school board planner with a keen interest in discovering ET life! I believe, without a doubt, that much intelligent life exists in our seemingly boundless Universe. I also believe that ET life has already made contact with us, and continues to do so. The difficulty is in recognizing the type of contact already being made! A great many people have claimed to have been abducted by aliens, some claim aliens live here on planet Earth deep underground, while others claim that aliens are in "cloaked" ships hovering around our planet waiting for 2012 (end of Mayan calandar) to bring us to the next dimension or vibration. I'm not sure what to believe, but for now, I'll keep an open mind and participate in this novel experiment. Thanks SETI for the opportunity to assist!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think SETI is a marvelous idea!

One issue I have: If people are doing this for recognition, do they really think anybody will care about which lousy microcomputer did the processing? I think world attention will be solely focused on the amazing life/attitude changes that WILL occur due to an ET discovery! I think what is important here is the personal feeling of satisfaction in assisting with a grand experiment, not the selfish need to be recognized for a miniscule contribution.
