| Personal background |
I am a career software developer/engineer, an Apple Macintosh enthusiast, a space and astronomy enthusiast, and occasionally a model rocketry enthusiast. I received my BS in Systems Engineering in 1976 and my MS in Computer Science in 1978, both from University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. My wife also has a degree in computer engineering. I have a daughter in high school, and a son in elementary school.
I have always been interested in space sciences, starting as an amateur astronomer when I was very young, and always followed the space program. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I have always held out hope that we would discover extraterrestrial life, but view UFO phenomenology with extreme scepticism. I am uncertain whether we will find intelligent extraterrestial life in my own lifetime, but feel that programs such as SETI are the best way to investigate. It does appear to me, however, that the jury is still out on simple extraterrestrial life elsewhere in our solar system.
I run SETI@home because the search is important to me, and I feel privileged to be a part of it. |
