Personal background |
I exist. I am beyond my years. I practice telekinesis. I keep a watchful eye on the sky. I spend too much time behind a computer. I want to travel in the stars. I listen to Radio Bratislava - Radio 3 (Mixing of Particulate Solids). and imagine moving by will across unmeasurable distances in time and space. Arthur Clarke opened my mind, Kubrick opened my eyes.
Favorite album is the first Starship album, "Blows Against the Empire". Still a Dead Head and a diehard Cubs fan. I dream about Ajax Amsterdam and 2004 in Portugal.
I admire Bill Joy, not so much for his achievements but more so for his insights. Most of all I thank my 5th grade science and home room teacher Mrs. Templeton for making me see the world beyond my nose. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I believe that the evidence strongly points to intelligent life. Mathematically I wouldn't bet against finding proof. When will be find that proof? Who knows, maybe the proof is already around us. In any case, more people think about extraterrestrial life and accept the possiblity of life beyond our planet. After that, I think we have several different ideas what that life might be.
I think we should simply broadcast all the known prime numbers, including the newest one, the 39th I think, and just put it in a loop. If the laws of Mathematics apply in their world (which my high school geometry teacher insisted would be true in "any universe") then they will understand everything once they hear it. They may be interested in where it came from, they may already know. Maybe they've already been here and know all about us. Maybe they know we will be calling, and they aren't going to pick up the phone. |
