Personal background
I am a 35 year old single mother of three children (15, 10 and 8 years old). I am currently a graduate student at the University of California, Irvine, working on a Ph.D. in Psychology & Social Behavior. I also work at UC Irvine as the Transfer Services Counselor, helping new transfer students with their transition. To learn more about me, you can check out my personal web site at http://www.geocities.com/s_brown_riddle

I have a Macintosh G4 400Mhz. computer with 512MB of RAM so running the SETI software doesn't tax my computer at all. It's lots of fun to be a part of this project, making a small contribution to science. I can't believe I have already logged in at over 1000 WU!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
My kids love having the SETI screen saver on our computer, they think it looks really cool. I live on campus at UC Irvine with a direct ethernet connection that allows me to be connected all the time to the internet, making transmissions easy. I leave my computer on all the time so I can crunch as much SETI data as possible when I'm not using the computer. I believe that there has to be life beyond our planet and I'm excited to play a small role in helping to verify that.
